Modern Total War Not Impossible, Says Creative Assembly
Modern font conflicts are on the list of settings Creative Forum would like to investigate, says lead artist.
The Total War series has spanned the duration of breadth of account, from the legions of Capital of Italy to the armies of Napoleon Bonaparte, but As yet, whatsoever form of warfare much recent than the early 19th hundred has gone uninfluenced. That may non always be the vitrine, however, as Creative Assembly say that a modern warfare brave isn't out of the question.
Lead designer Jamie Fergusson said that there were different groups at Creative Assembly who wanted to try different things. He said that some multitude at the company had found the setting of Medieval: Total War and its subsequence to be jolly dull, while others didn't like the 18th hundred settings of Empire and Nap. Lead artist Kevin McDowell chipped in, saying that a modern setting was possible, and was on Creative Meeting place's list, but that it would bring forward longer to rise because it would require so many changes to the familiar Total War gameplay in edict to work.
McDowell is rather understating the issue. Considering the very different nature of modern conflicts compared to diachronic battles – there are no huge lines of foot waiting to charge up into to each one other, for instance – a modern Total War would be and so different from the rest of the series, it would almost be equivalent a spinoff. That aforesaid, it would be interesting to see what Creative Assemblage would arrive at of information technology.
